Ultracur3D RG 3280 from BASF: The New High-Performance Composite Material
We are pleased to announce the introduction of the first composite material in our rigid product line: BASF’s Ultracur3D RG 3280. This innovative material, thanks to its high ceramic particle load, offers exceptional rigidity and unmatched thermal resistance, making it an ideal choice for high-performance applications.
Main features
- Extreme Stiffness: With a 10 GPa Young’s modulus, the Ultracur3D RG 3280 boasts superior stiffness that sets it apart from other materials on the market.
- High Thermal Resistance: The thermal deflection temperature (HDT B) above 280°C ensures that this material can withstand extreme thermal conditions without losing its mechanical properties.
- Ease of Printing: Despite the high particle load, the viscosity remains low (230 mPas at 30°C), making it easier to handle and print the material. In addition, the stability of the suspension is high, limiting particle deposition.
Material Properties
- Young’s modulus: 10,000 MPa
- Tensile Strength: 76 MPa
- Thermal Deflection Temperature: >280 °C
- Viscosity (30 °C): 230 mPas
Benefits at a glance
- Superior Rigidity: Ideal for applications that require extremely rigid materials.
- Excellent Temperature Resistance: Perfect for high-temperature environments.
- Fast and Easy Printing: Low viscosity and suspension stability make printing quick and hassle-free.
- High Suspension Stability: Reduces the risk of particle deposits, improving print quality.
Examples of Applications
- Tools: Due to its rigidity, it is perfect for producing strong and durable tools.
- Molding: Ideal for molds that need to withstand high pressures and temperatures.
- Wind Tunnel Testing: Its thermal and mechanical properties make it ideal for aerodynamic test models.
With its white color and ceramic-like feel, the Ultracur3D RG 3280 not only offers outstanding performance but also a pleasing aesthetic. This new composite material is set to revolutionize the rigid resin market, offering cutting-edge 3D-printing solutions for a wide range of industrial applications.
