BASF Ultracur3D RG 50 Rigid UV Resin
BASF Ultracur3D RG 50, developed by Forward AM, is a medium-viscosity urethane photopolymer designed for applications requiring rigid materials with high performance. This resin is designed to offer extremely high precision in 3D-prints, low shrinkage during curing, and good thermal stability, making it ideal for making high-quality functional parts. A distinctive feature of this material is the ability to be easily cleaned with water after finishing, eliminating the need for chemicals.
Key benefits:
- Ultra-high accuracy and low shrinkage: Ensures that printed parts retain the desired size and shape with minimal post-print warping.
- Water cleaning: The ability to clean parts with water reduces reliance on chemical solvents, promoting safer and more sustainable processes.
- Very low viscosity: Facilitates material handling and speeds up printing processes, optimizing production.
Applications:
- Automotive Enclosures: Suitable for vehicle components that require precision and resistance to varying environmental conditions.
- Clamps and Fixtures: Ideal for the production of tools and fixtures that need a robust and reliable material.
- Molds and Inserts: Used to create molds and inserts for industrial applications that would benefit from the accuracy and stability of the material.
- Electrical Castings: Perfect for electrical components that need to withstand thermal and mechanical stress.
Material Properties:
- Young’s modulus: 2300 MPa, indicating high rigidity that allows parts to withstand stress and loads without deforming.
- Tensile strength: 63 MPa, which shows good strength before breaking.
- Hardness: 85 D on the Shore D hardness scale, which gives it a surface that is resistant to abrasion and wear.
- Water absorption (24h): 1.12%, a relatively low rate indicating a lower susceptibility to dimensional changes caused by ambient humidity.
