Mingda AD-F4 — Specialized FDM 3D Printer for Three-Dimensional Signs and Letters
The Mingda AD-F4 is a special-format FDM 3D printer, developed specifically for the professional production of illuminated signs, boxed letters, and three-dimensional signage. Unlike generalist printers, its strongly horizontal print volume of 800×1200×100 mm is designed to process wide, flat panels — exactly the geometry required by channel letters, backlit logos, and large-format signs.
The heart of the system is the IMS, the 4-color automatic feeding system that allows you to change color directly during printing, without manual intervention. This means that you can create signs with multi-color branding and logos in a single continuous process, eliminating assembly, painting or separate cutting steps typical of traditional methods such as CNC or laser cutting.
Speed designed for series production
Thanks to Klipper firmware, the AD-F4 achieves a print speed of up to 300 mm/s with a peak acceleration of 10,000 mm/s², going from 0 to 300 mm/s in just 0.035 seconds — a print speed up to 5 times faster than traditional methods for producing letters and signs. Built-in input shaping minimizes vibration, ensuring smooth surfaces even at the highest speeds.
From the 2D file to the finished product
Proprietary MINGDA Slicer software (powered by AdWordCraft) enables direct conversion from 2D vectors to print-ready 3D models, including automatic generation of fonts and characters in different shapes — dramatically speeding up the workflow for contract sign makers without having to manually model each letter or logo.
Reliability for unmanned production
Intelligent third-generation automatic leveling ensures an optimal first layer with every print, while automatic filament break detection allows the machine to resume printing exactly where it left off after a blackout — a valuable feature on large-format prints that can require many hours of continuous processing.
