Zortrax Apoller is an intelligent steam sanding device that automatically smoothes the visible layers of FFF / FDM-3D prints. This smart vaporizer works with both acetone and MEK. The smoothing process is fully automated and controlled by intelligent proprietary algorithms. These control and regulate the temperature, pressure and concentration of solvent vapors in the Apoller precisely at all times.
First, the model must be placed in the smoothing chamber. Then the chamber is heated sufficiently to evaporate the solvent inside the Apollo. The vapors are then swirled up to uniformly cover the component.
The solvent vapors condense on the surfaces of the object and leave a glossy or matte surface, depending on the filament used. After completing the sanding process, Zortrax Apoller dries your 3D prints. Then they are ready to leave the room.
The entire weekly production of 4 typical FFF / FDM 3D printers can be automatically smoothed out in one day. The safety systems are designed to meet the strict requirements of the ATEX Directive 2014/34 / EC relating to the control of equipment intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
The models must be placed in a sealed double smoothing chamber of 300x250x250 mm. Settings are then selected via an intuitive touchscreen. Once this is done, the Zortrax apoller takes just 3 hours to evenly smooth out all the models in its chamber.
Zortrax Apoller's SVS technology is based on advanced proprietary algorithms that measure and control the temperature, pressure and concentration of solvent vapors in a hermetic, double-sealed smoothing chamber. The pressure in the chamber is always kept below the ambient pressure. This prevents harmful vapors from escaping and harming health.
The fumes inside the smoothing chamber are circulated upwards to evenly coat your models. The uniform distribution of the mist ensures that all surfaces are uniformly wet and chemically smooth. Once the smoothing process is complete, Zortrax Apoller lowers the temperature inside the installation space, condenses the excess solvent and is returned to the tank. A 300ml bottle of acetone or MEK can be reused for different smoothers. This saves costs and conserves resources to the maximum.
